One star, eight planets, a few hundred moons, and an enormous amount of nothing in between.
Each piece takes 2–3 minutes and stands on its own. Nothing depends on what came before it, so start anywhere and stop anywhere. Your place is kept.
Every planet is on this line. The inner four are crushed against the Sun at the far left — Earth sits about 3% of the way across. This is the honest picture, and it's why diagrams almost never use it.
